Can you imagine yourself here?

I LOVE design style shoots. Design style shoots allow Event Designers the creative outlet to explore new things. The new things can be a new venue, geographical location, or new design trends. With our recent relocation to Maui, a design style shoot allowed us the opportunity to collaborate in a different geographical location working with new venues and vendors. Here is the behind the scenes inspiration for our most recent design style shoot.

1. Maui is a beautiful island and known for being a great location for both weddings and corporate events. The goal was to create a design look to capture the essence of romance on the island. Thus, I wanted to have an intimate picnic setting that could work for a couple getting married or that corporate traveler that wanted a romantic get away with their significant other.
2. Once I determined the inspiration, I wanted to find a venue that was more of a blank canvas. I wanted a blank canvas so I could have the freedom to be completely creative. Often times, venues that have a pre-determine theme or vibe requires a lot of décor to accomplish a specific vision or plan. I selected Paradise Eco Adventures aka Maui Dragon Farm. This location was perfect as it was surrounded with lush vegetation and had a million dollar view of the ocean. The entire team at Paradise Eco Adventures was extremely accommodating through the entire planning process.
3. During the venue scouting time, I finalized the overall vision for the décor items. The main inspiration came from a turquoise tapestry that had a dream catcher design. Instead of using the tapestry in a traditional method, I used it as a picnic blanket. I wanted the additional pops of color to come from the throw pillows, additional décor accents and floral arrangements. With the romantic picnic vibe, I wanted to have some rustic elements with a wood table and a bamboo picnic basket with matching eating utensils.
4. The next phase was to secure the vendors needed. This actually, was a very easy process. As a new member of the Maui Wedding Association
(http://mauiweddingassociation.com/ ), I was able to secure all of the vendors needed. The list of each vendor is below:
Kinga Ritchey Wedding Photographer 808.283.9439

Cveta Patton Design [Flowers] 808.205.0291 http://www.cvetadesigns.com/
Ginny Morgan/MorganWolf Music [Harp] 808.879.4453

Jeff Maxim/Island Rents [Rental Company provided wood table]

One of the unique aspects of this design style shoot was the addition of live music. Most design style shoots do not feature live music. I felt that adding this would create the ultimate experience of a romantic get-away for two. For the adult beverage, we added a local touch and went with a bottle of Lokelani – Sparkling Rose’ from Maui Wine (https://mauiwine.com/ ) Overall, I wanted social media followers, existing and future clients to envision themselves experiencing the true romance that Maui has to offer.

If you need an Event Coordinator for your wedding or corporate event, contact Little Details, LLC details. I also hope that you reach out to one of the vendors that contributed to the success of this project. Mahalo and best wishes for 2017!
